Despite 18 cuts by the censor board, singer-cum-actress Sherlyn Chopra has said her latest music video album, “Dard-e-Sherlyn”, it is “still hot”.
“My album is still hot and I am happy that the video will now be shown even on children channels after it was censored,” she told reporters here after launching the new album at a city hotel on Monday.
“Dard-e-Sherlyn” is her second music album after “Outrageous”.
“The album is my way of portraying pain,” she said adding that “portrayals change with the change in era”.
“This is the 21st century and girls do not shy away. My album reflects my style of doing things,” she said talking about the theme of the album.
The singer, however, rued that choreography in the video was disturbed because of the 18 cuts. “I would have been happier if it had been passed without any cuts,” said Chopra, who has bagged a role in an upcoming Yash Raj film alongside Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee.
She made her intentions clear of becoming the next Bollywood bombshell, while claiming that she is not competing with other hotbods like Mallika Sherawat and Bipasa Basu.

On his musical journey:
From my childhood days I was very fond of folk music and used to do a lot of stage performances and be praised for them. So after I completed my school, I joined Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan in Jaipur and earned my Sangeet Visharad. After completing my BFA, I moved to Delhi and then Mumbai, where I assisted Tabun. It was a few years back that I met Himesh Reshammiya and have been making Bollywood music since.
On creating Bollywood music
I always wanted to be part of film music. I have assisted Himesh in Aap Ka Suroor and Namaste London. After that I composed music for the movie Kaand and I have composed folk music for an English movie Loving Journey based on NRIs.
On working with Himesh Reshammiya
Himesh is a fantastic person to work with. He is not only a master composer, but also knows the art of music merchandising. He has really taught the industry how to sell fresh voices and contemporary music.
On upcoming projects
At the moment I’m composing music for a Bollywood movie Hot Chilli, which is going to be directed by Ashok Chawla. Apart from that I’m composing music for a Bhojpuri film, and two of my music albums are going to be released soon.

MUMBAI, India - Snoop Dogg’s done Hollywood. Now he’s moving on to Bollywood.
“Yo, what up. This Big Snoop Dogg. Represent the Punjabi. Aye ya, Hit em with this,” the rapper says while introducing the title song to “Singh is Kinng,” the Bollywood film that opens Friday.
Clad in a maroon slim-fitted Indian kurta and beige trousers and a diamond-studded turban, Snoop Dogg lounges on an oversized armchair draped with blue and pink silk alongside Akshay Kumar, the movie’s lead star, in a video posted on the Internet by the producers, Cashmere Asia.
“I’m just a king sitting on my throne all alone, ” Snoop Dogg raps, surrounded by energetic dancers in colorful headgear in a song peppered with rhythmic drum beats. “Singh is King. Singh is King. Snoop Dogg is also the King.”
The video was shot over three days last month in Chicago.
The film’s producers said this was more than a blending of cultures and would pave the way for more collaborations and international brand advertising through Bollywood.
The title song has already taken India by storm, and can be heard blaring repeatedly from radios and at bars.
Snoop Dogg said he would follow up his success with a tour to India.
“Snoop Dogg has a lot of fans in India and I love ‘em right back,” he said. “Get ready for me.”
